The Tank 500 certainly looks powerful on the outside. Its interior specifications are also impressive: a version with 299 hp and 500 Nm of torque is available on the Russian market. Manufacturers are always forced to comply with vehicle taxes and environmental regulations, so they often underpower the car. Chip tuning allows you to unlock the car's potential safely. Having worked with numerous Tank 500 owners, we've identified other shortcomings that require attention to ensure complete comfort. Specifically, we offer: expanded multimedia functionality, elimination of automatic transmission jerks and lurches, and temperature reduction to prevent overheating.

At IMCHIPE, we offer three firmware levels for different applications:

Stage 1 – a factory program taken from the more powerful Blacktrail trim. Increases power to 354 hp and 560 Nm (+55 hp and +60 Nm);

Stage 1+ is our version, based on the factory boost with additional calibration for Russian conditions. Increases torque to 405 hp and 620 Nm (+106 hp and +120 Nm);

Stage 2 is the maximum tuning for those who want to fully unleash the engine. Increases torque to 420 hp and 660 Nm (+121 hp and +160 Nm).

How does this feel on the road?

Dynamics and agility are improved;
Acceleration time is reduced, becoming faster and more confident. This makes overtaking and starting at traffic lights easier and safer;
The automatic transmission is more responsive (more on this below);
The delay between pressing the gas pedal and the car's response is eliminated.

It also allows you to save fuel if you don't drive constantly. In this mode, the engine runs more efficiently: after chip tuning, you don't have to floor the pedal to achieve the desired performance – the car delivers power sooner and with less effort. However, if you constantly drive fast, fuel consumption will be higher even without the chip. You have a choice: drive dynamically when needed, and economically when not.

How does the Tank 500 perform after the chip tuning?

0-100 km/h acceleration results:

Stock – 9.77 seconds;

After chip tuning – 6.89 seconds.

80-170 km/h acceleration results (an important indicator for overtaking on the highway):

Stock – 19.07 seconds;

After chip tuning – 13.38 seconds.

*One person per vehicle, Stage 1+ firmware up to 405 hp.

As a reminder, the Tank 500 is a full-size SUV weighing approximately 2,500 kg. For such a weight, 7 seconds of acceleration is a respectable figure. Improved dynamics and acceleration make the car feel lighter and more agile. This provides more confidence on the road and improves maneuverability.

Solving the problem of automatic transmission hesitation and jerking

This is one of the most common complaints from Tank 500 owners. The transmission can jerk when shifting gears, especially at low speeds, hesitate when accelerating, and twitch when braking. However, the problem lies specifically in the calibrations, and can therefore be addressed through software. We've updated the Tank 500 firmware and completely eliminated these issues. As a result:

Shifting is now instantaneous and smooth when accelerating;
Sharp jerking when changing gears and decelerating is eliminated;
Transmission performance has been improved, now better adapting to driving conditions.

Overheat Protection

For the Tank 500, we've developed an electronic thermostat control algorithm that effectively reduces the risk of overheating in urban driving conditions. This is especially important in traffic jams and during frequent stops, when the standard cooling system doesn't perform optimally. This setting provides the following benefits:

Reduced engine oil wear and extended service life;
Reduced risk of detonation;
Protection of rubber and plastic components from premature aging;
Improved overall engine reliability and durability.

Multimedia Firmware

We also offer multimedia firmware for the Tank 500, which expands the functionality of the standard system. Unfortunately, the factory multimedia system has a number of limitations. You get:

New instrument clusters tailored to your needs;
Yandex Navigator directly on the dashboard;
Yandex Music, Alice, RuStore;
File Manager;
HUD Speed and custom backgrounds;

We read the stock firmware of the engine control unit via the OBD port. This process requires no mechanical intervention – just connecting a laptop with specialized software. The read factory firmware is saved.

The finished firmware, customized for your needs, is uploaded via the same OBD port.

After installing the firmware, you can take a test drive to evaluate the engine, transmission, and throttle response.
